Senator Phil Fortunato represents the 31st Legislative District, which includes parts of King and Pierce counties, including Auburn, Bonney Lake, Carbonado, Edgewood, Wilkeson, Orting, and Sumner.

He brings extensive private-sector and legislative experience, having served as a state representative for the 47th District from 1999 to 2000. A contractor for more than 30 years, Phil started his first business at 18 and is a recognized expert in Clean Water Act compliance. His background also includes experience with Davis-Bacon requirements, employment and tax issues, and international work in Europe, Asia, and Canada.

Phil and his wife, Suzanne, live in Auburn and have five children, three of whom served in the Marine Corps. He is active in his community through his church and organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Buckley Eagles, Sons of Italy, Washington Arms Collectors, the National Rifle Association, Renton Fish and Game Club, and the Black Diamond Gun Club, as well as other charitable activities.
